Give & Go

Give & Go is Pacific's end of semester move-out event, co-sponsored by the Center for Civic Engagement, International Student Services, Housing & Residence Life, Facilities Management, and Auxiliary Services. Students are invited to donate unwanted items that will be reused by nonprofit organizations in Washington and Multnomah counties. The idea is to keep items out of the landfill and get them to people in need.

Give & Go has partnered with organizations such as Adelante Mujeres, CREATE, Forest Grove Family Resource Center, Foster Closet Inc, HomePlate, St. Vincent de Paul, and New Avenues for Youth.

Give & Go 2016:
May 13-17; 12-5pm
May 18; 9am-1pm

Give & Go for the Holidays, 2015 collected the following non-perishable food and clothing items for reuse:

  • 25 meals
  • 112 t-shirts
  • 47 sweaters and jackets
  • 16 pairs of pants
  • 23 pairs of shorts
  • 6 dresses
  • 5 knit hats
  • 3 pairs of shoes
  • 2 blankets

A sustainable move-out will be most effective if it is preceded by a sustainable move-in, and education and action throughout the year pertaining to sustainability. Our efforts include reducing, reusing, and recycling, and an overall cultural shift away from over consumption and toward conservation and good stewardship of our resources.
