Community Partners

Lady Doak College

CGE has established a sister-center relationship with a women’s center at a college in Madurai, India called Lady Doak College (LDC). The purpose of the relationship is to facilitate the exchange of students, community and faculty scholars with our sister campus in India in order to study topics germane to CGE’s mission. The first group of 15 student visited Lady Doak in January of 2005.

In 2006 a second group of students traveled to southern India and engaged in service-learning work with Lady Doak College at a local orphanage called Love and Care. CGE initiated community educational service-learning exchanges with Lady Doak in 2006 and sent groups of community women to India in 2006 and 2007, who also worked at Love and Care Orphanage.
