Alumnus Named Oregon History Teacher of the Year

Clint Rodreick ’06, MAT ’08 has been named Oregon History Teacher of the Year.

Rodreick is in his seventh year of teaching at Phoenix High School in southern Oregon where, among other things, he teaches advanced placement history.

He is known for bringing history to life by introducing original source materials in his classes and challenging students to examine evidence, think critically, and examine history from multiple perspectives.

The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History leads the selection of a national teacher of the year. Oregon educators in the institute selected Rodreick as the state winner for 2014. He will receive a certificate and a cash price, as well as an archive of materials from the institute to use in his teaching.
