Forest Grove Opens Car Charging Stations on College Way

The City of Forest Grove will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Feb. 21, to mark the installation of two electric vehicle charging stations on College Way between McCormick and Walter Hall.

The ceremony is expected to last about 30 minutes. John Hayes will speak on behalf of the university. He will be joined by a speaker from the City of Forest Grove.

To demonstrate the charging process, the city will have one of its electric cars at the ceremony, but Pacific University students, faculty and staff are encouraged to bring their own electric cars to campus that day and to utilize the second charging station during the ceremony and demonstration.

College Way is expected to be closed beginning shortly before the ceremony until the ceremony commences.

In addition to the two charging stations located on College Way, the city has installed two stations in the parking lot across from City Hall and expects to install two more behind the Forest Theater on Pacific Avenue.
