MFA Alumna Deborah Reed Publishes in Magazine, Upcoming Novel

Author Deborah Reed MFA '12 has a new essay appearing in the March/April issue of Poets & Writers magazine. Highlighted on the cover of the newest issue, the essay is a combination critical review of Norwegian author Per Petterson's work and a telling of Reed's own storytelling background in Appalachia.

The author of four books — and one to come — Reed is a 2012 graduate of the Pacific University Master of Fine Arts in Writing program, with an emphasis in fiction. She published A Small Fortune and its sequel Fortune's Deadly Descent, under the pen name Audrey Braun, as well as Carry Yourself Back to Me, a Best Book of 2011 Amazon Editor's Pick, and Things We Set on Fire, as Deborah Reed.

Her newest novel, Olivay, will publish in July 2015.
