Salgado Selected to Present at National Symposium

Dawn Salgado will organize and present at a Featured Feminist Science Symposia at the 2015 Association of Women in Psychology conference in San Francisco in March 2015.

Salgado, an associate professor in Pacific University's Department of Psychology, will lead a symposium examining incarcerated women's experiences within the criminal justice system. It is one of four symposia showcasing innovative, high-quality research on important topics of interest to attendees of the AWP conference. The 2015 conference also will feature keynote speaker Angela Davis, a social justice leader who spoke at Pacific University in April 2014.

In addition to teaching undergraduate psychology at Pacific, Salgado is adviser of the Psi Chi Psychology International Honors Society. In 2013, she was awarded the prestigious Mamie Phipps Clark Research Grant for her work, in partnership with students, in researching diversity programming and minority student involvement on campus.
