This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of Circulation for the Library at the Forest Grove campus, under the supervision of the Circulation Manager. The Circulation Supervisor possesses a thorough knowledge of established library procedures and technical systems. Performs independent paraprofessional work that requires exercising independent judgment, solving problems of limited complexity, and implementation of applicable policies and procedures. Trains and supervises student assistants. Works collaboratively with Interlibrary Loan, Collection Management Services, Research Services and Systems staff located on the Forest Grove and Hillsboro campuses in support of library-wide functions and operations. Assists students, faculty, and staff with their library service needs. This is a permanent benefit-eligible positon, working during the academic year (mid-August to mid-June), 35-37 hours per week, evenings and weekends. The Director of the Pacific University Office of Scholarship and Sponsored Projects (OSSP) is executive administrative officer responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the OSSP. These activities are focused in four major areas: Research Regulatory Compliance and Committees, Grants and Contracts, Faculty Development in Research and Scholarly Activities, and Student Research and Scholarly Project Support. The Director reports to the Vice Provost for Research, and serves as an ex officio member of the university committees related to research and scholarship. The Director provides leadership for the development and administration of externally funded grants and contracts and related research functions for Pacific University faculty and students; plans, develops, implements and evaluates the sponsored scholarship program; supervises OSSP staff; disseminates information on external grants and awards, advises faculty members and students in preparation and submission of external proposals; ensures compliance with both university and agency policies, tracks sponsored projects applications and results and devises training for faculty and students in proposal development and planning. The Director interacts on a regular basis with faculty and students from all five colleges at Pacific University, and with both undergraduate and graduate students. In addition, the Director will interact regularly with staff from Finance and Administration and University Advancement.
