The strategy for Photography & Multimedia in the Office of Marketing & Communications is to enhance the university's public image, increase the public's awareness of Pacific's accomplishments and events, and develop consistent communications that build upon the university's reputation with its many constituents.
Priority projects include student recruitment materials, fundraising materials for the university as a whole, Pacific magazine and the Pacific University website.
Menu of Resources
Marketing & Communications can help facilitate photography and multimedia needs that are not listed above if you submit a request. We first look at available images and video when we receive submissions. We evaluate and determine if the request fits into priorities, scope and resources. The following options are available:
MarCom can help coordinate the hiring of student photographers and/or videographers or local freelancers if staff cannot accommodate requests for services. Students and freelancers are an option for departments with budgets for photography and video.
A selection of Pacific University photos can be viewed on Pacific's Flickr page. They are available to download once you become a contact of Pacific University's photostream. This requires that you register for a free account with Flickr. Photos of campus life, campus scenes and Pacific events are added regularly.
Requests for File Photos
Campus personnel and outside agencies that would like to request a search for past Pacific photos or videos should make their request through the manager of multimedia at 503-352-2197.
A selection of Pacific University videos can be viewed on Pacific's Vimeo page. These videos can be linked to or embedded within webpages. If you would like to request a copy of a video for a presentation please contact Robbie Bourland, manager of multimedia, at email@example.com.
Two weeks advanced notice is a minimum for scheduling purposes to begin a project. Large projects need a longer lead-time as we are frequently working four to six weeks out. All requests go through an approval process, and you will receive an email once a decision has been made if we are able to complete your request, if we have assets that you can use or suggestions on other options. To make an assignment request, please email Jenni Luckett at firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information:
- Project name
- How will the photos or video be used
- Detailed project description
- Photography or video
- Expected completion date
Pacific photography may not be used for commercial purposes. All requests for photos and videos will be considered based on their final usage. Photos and videos will not be given to any entity that seeks to portray Pacific in an unfavorable light.
