National Institute of Mental Health 

The National Institute of Mental Health provides a wealth of information about mental health issues and current research findings. The “For the Public” section offers information from NIMH about the symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illnesses. Included are brochures and information sheets, reports, press releases, fact sheets, and other educational materials. Information is available in Spanish and English.

The American Psychological Association

The American Psychological Association is the professional organization of psychologists and the field of psychology. A great resource for the public, their website includes information about the organization as well as a Consumer Help Center. Information about profession ethical guidelines is also available on this site.
