All enrolled students are required to be covered by medical insurance. The University sponsored student insurance plan through Academic Health Plans is a low cost, comprehensive plan with a low deductible and excellent benefits. All students are eligible to use the Student Health Center for low cost primary healthcare services. For students choosing the university sponsored plan, the deductible is waived and coverage is 100% for services at the Student Health Center. Other insurance coverage must have comparable coverage similar to the university student plan. If you have other insurance, benefits of comparable coverage must be applicable in Oregon and outside of Oregon if you intend to, or your program requires travel (for example, if you are in a graduate health profession program and will be at clinical sites throughout the U.S. and beyond, if you will travel with choir, athletics, student government, club sports, etc).
At the beginning of each academic year, the Business Office bills all students for the yearly premium of the University Insurance Policy. You may waive this insurance by filling out the appropriate form and providing proof of other health insurance coverage.
