The Center for Gender Equity sent two students, Ariel Laws and Kiresten Iwai, and Prof. Dawn Salgado to a conference in Maryland with the support of Elise Elliott funds.
Laws says, "I had the great opportunity to attend the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders at the University of Maryland. The keynote speakers, Rachel Simmons and Nina Godiwalla shared stories about breaking away from what others expected of them and finding their own paths. There were four different sessions with a variety of workshops to choose from. I attended workshops on Successful Approaches to Conflict Management, Managing Stress and Making Conscious Choices, Creating your Career Narrative and How to Ace a Job Interview. I got to meet motivated women from all over the country."
