The Complete Proposal
A complete proposal should include the following sections, and should not exceed ten pages overall:
- Names, affiliations, and brief relevant biographical material on participants.
- Statement of problem or need.
- The purpose and likely outcome of the project.
- In not more than five pages, the detailed exposition of the proposed program, including the steps to be taken, discussion of relevant literature and research in the area, the details of any proposed curriculum which is suggested, outline of implementation stages, and indications of how the project meets the goals of the Hewlett Program.
- An evauluation strategy.
- Careful plans for dissemination on campus, regionally, and nationally.
- Budget. Costs are for faculty and support. Faculty costs should be based on actual replacement costs for teaching during the year, or $4000 (+$1200 for benefits) as a stipend level. Support can be provided for travel to relevent conferences, for the support of outside speakers and for minor supplies. Overall, a maximum of $17,500 per grant will be available, which will include faculty and support costs.
Appendices are not recommended.
