Internships

 

Before or after graduation, we can arrange an internship for you. Some of these internships will appear on your school record. After graduation, we can arrange Optional Practical Training (OPT) for you. OPT is always paid and lasts one year.

 

To Get an Internship Before Graduation

 

  • You must be a Junior or Senior for academic credit based internships
  • You must have a GPA of 2.70
  • The length is usually full-time or part-time for one semester

 

How Can You Get Academic Credit for Your Internship?

 

  • 40 hours of work = 1 semester hour of credit
  • 14 credits = maximum amount of internship credit per semester
  • 17 credits = total number of internship credit you can use toward graduation

Optional Practical Training (OPT)


After graduation, we can arrange Optional Practical Training (OPT) for you. OPT is always paid and lasts one year. You can do OPT on your student visa, without applying for a work visa.
