Athletics at PacificPacific students work hard and they play hard. About 50 percent of students participate in either varsity, intramural, or club sports, and many more enjoy cheering on the Boxers against their rivals. The Boxers compete in the Northwest Conference (NWC), an NCAA Division III league that includes nearby schools such as Lewis & Clark College, Linfield College, and Willamette University. Student-athletes who attend Pacific value a good education, but they also want the satisfaction of contributing to a competitive team sport. "Here at Pacific I am receiving a personal education with the highest level of academics while also getting to play soccer with the most premier coaches and players in this country. It can’t get much better than this!" says Travis Birrell, 1st Team All Northwest Conference scholar athlete. Athletics Facilities
Over the last 10 years, Pacific University has gone the extra mile to make their athletic facilities one of the best to be found among small colleges on the west coast. In addition to the remodeling work done on the Stoller Center (formerly the Pacific Athletic Center), Pacific teams play in a new outdoor stadium, the Lincoln Park Athletic Complex; it is truly among the best at the NCAA Division III level. Other improvements to the Pacific Athletics physical plant include the new Thomas J. Holce tennis courts and a weight room geared towards the needs of Pacific's student-athletes.
