Pacific University Alumni Association

Alumni and Students with Spirit Bench and Marsh HallThe Alumni Association began in 1864 with the establishment of the “Society of Alumni.” Membership was open to all college-educated people in the area. This offered a home on the west coast and encouraged participation and involvement in the advancement of what is now Pacific University.

In 1919 the Society of Alumni transitioned to include only graduates of Pacific University. This group became known as the X.P.U. Club. In 1924 the name changed to Associate Alumni of Pacific University. The intent was to aid the institution both in volunteer time and financial support through the Campaign for Endowment and Maintenance. In 1927, the name was changed to the Pacific University Alumni Association.

Today, the Alumni Association serves, and is served, by more than 18,000 alumni, a number that increases annually by approximately 900 new graduates. Alumni gather across the United States and around the world, strengthening the Association and ultimately, the University.

Pacific University Alma Mater

Hail, Old Pacific, Hail

Hail, old Pacific, Hail, noble and strong,
To thee with loyal hearts we raise our song,
Swelling to heaven high, loud praises ring.
Hail, old Pacific, Hail, to thee we sing.

Majesty as a crown rests on thy brow,
Pride, honor, glory, love before the bow.
Ne'er can thy spirit die, thy walls decay.
Hail, old Pacific, Hail, for thee we pray.

Pacific University Fight Song

Play the Fight Song - created by Professor of Music, Michael Burch-Pesses

We’re gonna fight, fight, fight for Pacific U.
With all our might, might, might till the game is through;

No matter what the score, win, lose, or draw, we’re rooting for you;
So keep your head up high and show them what those Boxers can do.

We’re gonna fight, fight, fight for Pacific U.
Your best is all we ask to meet the task we put you through;

So we want it known specific, that Pacific is terrific;
Give your all to Pacific U.
