Affinity Clubs
Getting Involved
Established Clubs
Alumni volunteers who express interest in getting involved with, or establishing, reorganizing, or evaluating an affinity club should contact the Alumni Office. The office can provide a variety of services and guidance, including current membership rosters with names and addresses of alumni within a specific affinity or group.
Once volunteers have consulted the alumni office, they are encouraged to call a meeting of constituents to organize their group. Appoint a steering committee or some other form of governance for your group.
Overview
Purpose
Pacific's clubs program helps raise the profile of the University by engaging alumni from a specific affinity organization or group while on campus. They nurture alumni through special affinity programs, booster organizations, and friendships. They support students and the University through scholarship fund raising, networking, and admissions work.
Definition
Affinity clubs are defined as an organized group of alumni who share a common bond through an affinity or other special interest with one another. Many of these groups are based on a shared academic discipline, student activities, age/year of graduation, or athletics. Similar to regional chapters, each affinity club will be led by a volunteer board (or individual) that works with the Alumni Relations office, as well as with a co-sponsoring department or division in many cases, to plan, implement, and evaluate club programs and activities.
