Miala Leong, '06, has always had a strong interest in literature and how it helps us understand not only other cultures but ourselves. Her senior thesis, in fact, focused on cultural identity of the Maori civilization off the coast of New Zealand, and, only one year after graduation, has already been published at Ka'iwakiloumoku Hawaiian Cultural Center's official website.
