Cait Powers (Instructor: Ballet) was born in San Luis Obispo, CA where she began ballet classes at the age of three. She later moved to Portland, OR, and continued her ballet at the School of Oregon Ballet Theatre under the direction of Haydee Gutierrez and James Canfield. At the age of fifteen, Cait was invited to dance with the corps de ballet of Oregon Ballet Theatre, and at sixteen Cait toured to Anchorage, Alaska to open the Nutcracker season. Cait later became a founding company member of Bouand Dance Company under the direction of Alex Ballard in 2005.

 

Recently, Cait has performed Jennifer Camp’s choreography with Pacific Dance Ensemble in Santa Cruz, California at the First Annual Fringe Festival. Cait has choreographed pieces for Pacific Dance Ensemble, for students at Studio One Dance Academy, and for Portland Dance Collaboration.

 

Several years ago Cait began working on independent film and commercial projects in and around the Portland area. In her spare time, she enjoys making jewelry, gardening, and hiking. Cait lives in SW Portland with her husband, Bruce, and two little dogs, Dublin and Delilah.
