Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Scholarships Purpose: The purpose of the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is to help young people of exceptional promise reach their potential through education. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is particularly interested in supporting exceptional students with substantial unmet financial need. Programs Funded: Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Scholarships support graduate study in any discipline at any university in the United States or abroad for the duration of the graduate degree program. Awards provide funding for un-met expenses for tuition, room and board, fees and books, up to $50,000 per year, for a maximum of six years. Approximately 35 awards are made each year. Eligibility: Selection Criteria: The Foundation seeks to help new students who do not have the financial resources or “safety net” to pursue graduate study. Receipt of financial aid while an undergraduate is a necessary but insufficient indicator of an applicant’s financial need. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and an active involvement in the community. The Jack Kent Cooke foundation is particularly interested in demonstrations of perseverance, determination, and commitment. Students who have managed substantial responsibilities during school, such as supporting a family, are encouraged to apply. Application Process: Applications require University endorsement and must be made through the Fellowship Office. Pacific may nominate two seniors or recent graduates each year. Interested students should contact Pacific’s Fellowship Office or the Jack Kent Cooke coach (below) preferably during the spring of the junior year, but no later than fall of the senior year.
