The Creative Process
Description
These classes center around the inter-influential relationships between art, music, theatre and literature as well as other artistic disciplines. Emphasis will be placed on what influenced a composer, a writer and/or a playwright to create a body of work, and furthermore, how these ideas and concepts affect and influence one another from one discipline to the next. Parallels will be drawn as to why, who and how significant artists' works came to be what they are. Additionally, the topics will concentrate on understanding what came before the artist and/or writer and their work, what happened during their time of creative work to instigate the initial interest in subject matter by a composer/writer/playwright, and how they contributed to the overall body of work and evolutionary progress in each of these disciplnes.
