First-Year Experience(FYE) at Pacific University is your introduction to a holistic liberal arts education. It is designed to make your first year at Pacific a unique and challenging success. FYE incorporates a number of intersecting elements. Some of the key elements include: The First-Year Seminar (FYS) Program introduces incoming students to college academic life and the skills needed for success in that life. Pacific Intersections offers a variety of other co-curricular options throughout the year. The Pacific Intersections is the campus-wide theme for the year. This year’s theme is sustainability. |

Sustainability involves learning to make decisions that provide for the needs of the world's current population without damaging the ability of future generations to provide for themselves. Sustainability encompasses the intertwined ideals of viable economies, equity and justice, and ecological integrity. Be prepared to take advantage of Pacific Intersections and reflect on your own responsibility to sustain your world and what you can do about it. |

Voyages is an optional program that allows you to embark on an adventure with other new students in August before school starts. These adventures are designed to offer students a way to connect with other incoming students, student leaders and faculty members with similar interests and passions.
