The Gender and Sexuality Studies Program at Pacific University, created in response to a collective student and faculty call for a women-centered, multicultural, and inclusive program, offers a minor, sponsors campus programs, and supports a variety of faculty and student groups. The program seeks to address social inequities using feminist perspectives and to provide opportunities for curriculum development and change, faculty and student leadership, mentoring and participation, and broad-based education that focuses on the lives of women socially, culturally, and historically.
Students interested in Gender and Sexuality Studies are invited to join the Gender and Sexuality Studies Student Collective, a student organization formed by the first Feminist Studies Minor class of Pacific University. The collective meets regularly to discuss various readings in feminist theory and application, hosts a speaker series, sponsors students conducting feminist, women and gender research and projects, and provides a network for community action and student support.
