Media Arts Programs: Film/Video Major
The major in Film/Video embraces both the practice of filmmaking and the study of film. Students will learn every aspect of production from sound recording to digital editing. Simultaneous with their production classes, students will take classes in film analysis and film theory. The Film/Video majors can also participate in Pacific Productions, which is a student-run video club open to all students. The Media Arts Department puts on a big end-of-the-year film show where student work is shown and celebrated. It is great fun and well attended by the Pacific community. We offer good access to equipment, small class sizes, and a great student community. A Film/Video Major will be prepared to work in any entry-level production or post-production position in film or television. They will also be well-prepared to do graduate work in film studies or film production.
