Media Arts Programs: Journalism

Journalism students talk theory on the lawnThe Journalism program focuses on the tools of the journalists that are applicable not only to traditional newspaper reporting but also to a wide variety of other pursuits. Journalism students are taught how to identify important subjects, find information about those subjects and package that information for a variety of audiences. Reporting, writing, editing and publication design are all important aspects of the curriculum as well as courses dealing with the role of the journalist in today's world. The skills learned in the journalism program are applicable in a variety of fields including print and broadcast journalism, publication editing and design, public relations, advertising and more.
