CALL FOR PAPERS

The 61st annual Northwest Philosophy Conference will be held October 23-24, 2009 on the campus of Pacific University, in Forest Grove, Oregon. Papers on any philosophical topic are welcome. Papers should be approximately 3000 words (10-12 pages).  Electronic submissions, including paper and abstract (Word documents), are strongly preferred and can be sent to: boersema@pacificu.edu  Hard copy submissions are also welcome.  In this case, please send two copies of paper and abstract to the address below.

Submission deadline is August 31, 2009.  Final decisions will be made by September 15, 2009. Authors of accepted papers will be expected to be available as commentators for another paper.

The conference schedule will be as follows:

Friday, October 23:   

  Conference social 6:00-8:00pm;

  Live taping of "Philosophy Talk" 8:00-9:30pm;

Saturday, October 24:   

  Paper sessions 8:00-1:00;

  Conference luncheon 1:00-2:00;

  Paper sessions 2:00-5:00;

  Keynote session 5:00-7:00

  Conference banquet 7:00-9:00.

Registration costs: $75, payable at the conference.

Registration

Anyone interested in pre-registering for the conference can do so at the address above; Electronic registration is also available. Registration fee: $75. A Friday evening social will be provided to registered attendees, as well as Saturday lunch and banquet. Please make checks payable to "Pacific University." The registration fee can also be paid at the conference.
