Master of Social Work

In the master of social work program at Pacific University, students will study advanced social work practice.

Located at the Eugene Campus, the master of social work program offers students the hallmarks of a Pacific University education: small classes, close relationships with peers and professors, and the opportunity to engage with the community.

Students will study the dynamics and skills involved in working with individuals and families, as well as human behavior, social policy and research methods. They also will engage in fieldwork in partnership with local community organizations.

For most students, the master of social work will be a two-year program. Students who have earned a bachelor of social work, however, may apply for advanced standing and pursue a one-year degree.

The master of social work will open to students in Fall 2014.

Pacific University is seeking initial accreditation by the Council on Social Work Education, which also accredits the university’s bachelor of social work program.
