2011- 12 French Language Assistant: Jessica Lebbe
Bonjour à tous les Boxers !
So nice to meet you, I am Jessica and I have the pleasure of being your new French Language assistant for 2011/2012 at Pacific University ! I am from a city at the east of Paris called “Ozoir –la-Ferrière”, a nice area to live when you sometimes want to escape the Parisian madness (even if actually I am crazy in love with it!). I have studied Spanish and Latin American culture for 5 years at East Paris – Marne-la-Vallée University (the hometown of Disneyland Paris!) and lived in Sevilla, Spain for one year and it was definitely one of my greatest experiences in life. So after this Spanish love story, I decided to explore new horizons and come back to my first primary school flirt (because I started to learn it at that time): English. I always have been interested in learning foreign languages (I can speak Italian as well) and I really wanted to come back to the US after 2 short stays in the American East coast. So spending one year to share my culture in French and English (what a wonderful mission!) was a great opportunity for me to specialize in organization of cultural activities.
I love dance (especially ballet!), music and drama so many of my activities on campus will be around arts and culture but I am open to discover new ones as well ! I am also really interested in medias because I want to be a journalist and this year I will host a show with Pacific students from French classes for the French radio Click’N’Rock (www.clicknrock.fr/live-from-usa-57 ). It’s called Live from USA to share the best of your American way of life on campus to French people so if you want to be part of this amazing experience, email me : firstname.lastname@example.org
Because sharing your culture doesn’t have boarders !
To practice and improve your French, we have many different ‘’rendez-vous’’ :
- Soirée française (French evening) Mondays from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. in the CLIC, Scott Hall
- Table française 102 (French table) Tuesdays from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. in the CLIC, Scott Hall
