Application Instructions for Admissions
To apply to the Pacific University Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program for Fall 2013 entry, you must submit the completed application by June 30, 2013. Applications will be reviewed from December to March. Invitations to interview will be sent in late March.
Clinical Experience
You must have a minimum 50 hours of work, volunteer or observation experience completed at the time you submit your application. These hours must be completed under the supervision of a current practicing certified athletic trainer (registered or licensed, depending on individual state requirements). The Admissions Committee encourages seeking volunteer or observation experience in a variety of settings. For example, certified athletic trainers may be employed in high schools, in colleges or universities, by professional teams, in hospitals or clinics, by performing arts groups, by the military, or in occupational /industrial settings.
References
Two letters of reference must be submitted with your application. One reference must be from a certified athletic trainer with whom you have worked, volunteered or observed. If possible, the other evaluation should be from a college faculty member or supervisor /employer (healthcare setting).
Official College and University Transcripts
Official transcripts from every institution you have attended should be submitted in your application.
GRE Scores
GRE scores are not required for the Pacific University Master of Science in Athletic Training program.
The TOEFL Exam
The athletic training program requires a minimum TOEFL score of 600 paper-based, 250 computer-based or 100 Internet-based, with minimum subsection scores. More information about the English Proficiency Policy can be found within Pacific University’s supplemental application.
Application Fee
A non-refundable application fee of $25 (U.S.) must be paid at the time you submit your application. Applicants may pay by check or credit card.
