The Pacific University Libraries are celebrating Open Access Week, October 22-28
The Forest Grove campus library will display posters on Open Access publishing, its benefits, and how you can get involved.
Stop by the Forest Grove campus library to learn more about Open Access publishing. Posters will be displayed in the library lobby providing information on what Open Access is and how Pacific University faculty, staff and students can share their knowledge.
Open Access Week, which was first observed in 2006, highlights the benefits of an Open Access publishing platform (as opposed to traditional publishing). Open Access publishing allows researchers to share their knowledge with others in their field while retaining copyright over their work. It also allows scholars to access this information without paying licensing fees associated with traditional publishing, which increase annually.
To learn more about Open Access, visit http://www.openaccessweek.org/ or stop by the Library and speak with a research services librarian.
