Readers needed for MLK Day!
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a day on, not a day off - join the celebration.
The MLK Day planning committee needs YOUR help to make the celebration a success.
Before the program in the UC at noon on Monday the 21st, we will have a silent march through town accompanied by people stationed at the corners along the march route reading the “I Have a Dream” speech. WE NEED MORE READERS! It’s an easy and fun commitment, and a moving way to bring life to the words of Dr. King during the march and could easily be done by families, members of a congregation, a class of kids, etc.
We ask that readers meet us on the Forest Grove campus (in the Fireside Lounge of Washburne Hall / University Center – campus map at http://www.pacificu.edu/about/location/campusmap.cfm) at 10:30 to get a map of the route and copy of the speech. The march begins at 11:00 and will be done by 11:30, so the commitment would be for one hour.
Readers are welcome to join us beforehand for viewing of the president’s inauguration or afterwards for the program, which starts at noon.
Please contact the CCE at email@example.com or 503-352-1570 if you’re willing to be a reader and/or if you have a group that can read together.
