Join the energetic, fast-paced staff of Conference Services hosting summer groups on campus. Summer Conference staff members work to meet their needs. Workers in this position are responsible for a wide variety of duties including, but not limited to: cleaning and preparing residence halls including making beds, transporting sheets and towels for laundering, checking guests in to residence hall rooms, setting up meeting rooms and classrooms, assisting clients with technology, assisting custodial and facilities, and numerous other tasks.
Requirements include: the ability to lift and carry items weighing 25-30 pounds, maturity, commitment, initiative, reliability, flexibility and the ability to make resourceful and responsible decisions. Also requires the ability to work and provide service under pressure to meet deadlines; ability to represent the department and the university to outside groups in an acceptable manner at all times. Excellent verbal communication skills are required, along with a positive attitude and a good sense of humor. Applicants must be a Pacific University student who has completed at least one year at Pacific University and will be returning to the University in the Fall.
This is a temporary position beginning May 18, 2013, and continuing through Aug. 17, 2013. Days and hours of work will vary from week to week. Weekend and evening times will be required for employees. Employees will average 40 hours per week and may not enroll in summer classes or have another part-time job or internship.
