Drywall, Flooring Installation Beginning at New Residence Hall
Construction moves fast on Pacific's newest student home
Pacific University’s newest residence hall is shaping up inside and out.
Crews officially broke ground on the new 200-bed residence hall in October 2013, with plans to move students in for Fall 2014.
Construction is on pace, despite a late winter snowstorm earlier this month. The building is completely framed, with window and roof installation underway. Drywall will go up starting in early March, followed by flooring starting in the middle of the month.
Water line work also is expected in early March, so watch for announcements about potential impacts to University Avenue. Parking on University Avenue between Sunset and Cedar streets currently is closed for construction-related work.
The new residence hall was designed in partnership with the Inici Group and Mahlum Architects and is being built by Walsh Construction. It is the third residence hall to be added to the Forest Grove Campus since 2006.
