Important Dates in Boxer History:
1881 - Reverend J.E. Walker, a Pacific alum and missionary to China, purchases Boxer from a family of apothecaries.
1896 - Reverend Walker's mother presents Boxer to the University.
1908 - The name "Boxer" is coined by the staff of the Weekly Index and the tradition of stealing, hiding, flashing and tossing Boxer began.
1967 - Boxer becomes Pacific's official mascot, replacing the Badger.
1969 - The original Boxer disappears for good after a routine toss.
1982 - Kim Smith, Linda Parker and Janet Leasher arrange for Boxer II to be cast.
