Free Philharmonic & Chamber Ensembles ConcertMay 4, 2014, 6:00 PM
You are cordially invited to the FREE Pacific Philharmonic & Strings Chamber Ensembles Spring Concert on Sunday, May 4th at 6pm in McCready Hall!
If you cannot attend in person, tune in at boxerradio.fm (must have Adobe installed) online for our live audio broadcast.
The Pacific Philharmonic will perform selections from Gustav Holst’s most majestic work “The Planets,” John Williams’ iconic “Superman March” & the 1st movement of one of the greatest violin concertos of the Romantic period - Mendelssohn’s “Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64” featuring soloist extraordinaire Adam LaMotte. Mr. LaMotte is a world-class Grammy nominated violinist who concertizes as Soloist & Principal Violinist of the Portland Baroque Orchestra as well as performs with the Northwest Sinfonietta, String Orchestra of the Rockies, the Astoria Festival Orchestra, & the Maggini String Orchestra. He is the founder, concertmaster & soloist of two critically-acclaimed orchestral ensembles in Portland and Houston, is the Artistic Director of the Montana Baroque Festival, and has published many CD’s including his newly released album “The Complete Jean-Marie Leclair Duo Sonatas” with best friend and Oregon Symphony violinist, Greg Ewer. Lucky for us, Mr. LaMotte serves as Instructor of Violin & Chamber Music at Pacific University!
Chamber ensembles will perform fantastic works, including Vivaldi’s “Concerto All Rustica,” and selections from Mendelssohn’s “String Quartet in D Major, Op. 44, No. 1” & Vaughan Williams’ “Phantasy String Quintet.”
We hope to see you there and know you will love the concert we have prepared to perform for you!
