Center for Civic Engagement, Scott 110

Preparing for life after high school!

PUMP It Up! is a mentor program which connects Pacific students with middle and high school students as qualified, dedicated mentors. This interest meeting is a great opportunity to learn more about PUMP It Up! and how you can make a difference.

Join us for the PUMP It Up! interest meeting Tuesday, January 14 from 4:30-5:00pm in the Center for Civic Engagement (Scott 110)!

Anyone interested in becomming a mentor is encouraged to attend. At the meeting we will discuss the benefits and requirements of the program, the various mentoring opportunities available, upcoming orientation and training, and any questions you may have. There will also be light refreshments.

More about PUMP It Up!:

PUMP It Up!, Pacific University’s Mentor Program, is a growing source of encouragement and positivity in local schools helping students to recognize and develop their unique potential.

Mentors provide academic and social support, college and career planning, and creative outlets for mentee expression through music and writing. Mentors with Adelante Chicas help Latina girls take pride in themselves and their cultural heritage.

Mentors can fulfil their Civic Engagement Cornerstone requirement through mentoring, in addition to developing their social, professional, and multicultural communication skills. It's also a great break from campus!

PUMP it Up! is a well-rounded program that trains and supports its team of mentors so they can reflect, grow, and have fun as a group that's passionate about student achievement.

You can join this force for good today! We are seeking new mentors to help us connect with more mentees during Winter term and Spring semester.

To get involved, contact the PUMP it Up! Coordinator/AmeriCorps, Amy Smetana, at pumpitup@pacificu.edu or stop by the Center for Civic Engagement in Scott 110.
