Asian & Pacific Islander Listening Circle

Asian & Pacific Islander American Network of Oregon and Pacific University's Dept. of Public Health presents a listening circle about the Asian and Pacific Islander community.Admissions are free and food will be provided.


This event will be held at Scott Hall 205 at 7:00-8:30 PM. 

This listening circle will encompass on creating a unique space to provide the opportunity to share concerns, stregthen relationships, and envision a better world for our communities. Furthermore this space will specifically allow participants to share their experiences, concerns, and knowledge about family relations within the Asian and Pacific Islander communities.

APANO's Advocacy Agenda is deeply informed by our listening circles. The goal is to increase civic engagement among Asian and Pacific Islanders to take leadership on the social, political, and ecomonomic decisions that affects our families and communities. 

Goals of the listening circle are:

-To bring people together to listen to one another, get to know each other, share stories and build trust.

-To affirm, recognize our community strengths.

-To identify the people most affected, most marginalized, most vulnerable among our communities andsurface their experiences. 

-To empower and educate one another.

-To gain relationships among and across communities, to build solidarity.

-To use feedback to inform APANO actions.
