Choral Concert

Nov 13, 2009, 7:30 PM
McCready Hall, Taylor Meade Performing Arts Building

Both Pacific University's Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will be performing in this concert.

At 7:30 pm in McCready Hall the Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will present their first joint concert of the year. Konstantin Kvach and the Concert Choir have prepared a wonderful program that includes "Domine Deus" by Ruth Morris Grey, "The Moon is Distant from the Sea" by David Childs, Brahms’ "O Schone Nacht," and the Irish folk song "The Gartan Mother's Lullaby," featuring Samuel Hess on solo violin. Other soloists will include Jen Lee and Ben Espana, and accompanist Brenna Wright. Immediately following the Concert Choir, Dr. Scott Tuomi and the Pacific University Chamber Singers will perform Morten Lauridsen’s “Five Mid-Winter Songs” accompanied by Janet Coleman. Other pieces include William Byrd’s motets “Ne Irascaris Domine” and “Civitas Sancti Tui”, a humorous collection entitled “Play with your Food,” and other lighthearted pieces.
