Speed Networking 2012

Alumni, parents, and friends are needed to help students practice their career conversation skills.

Portland-area alumni and parents are needed to assist current students sharpen their career networking and interviewing skills. Reminiscent of “speed dating,” students have the opportunity to meet briefly with each volunteer, practicing their "elevator speeches" and talking points.

Conversations may involve career topics, the student's future plans as well as their current area of study. Boxer Speed Networking is meant as practice for students soon entering the workforce.

Students will be prepared in advance by the Career Development Center, and will be trained in networking techniques, proper business attire and conversational business communications. Alumni and parent participants will receive preperation materials from the Office of Alumni Relations along with a biography of each student.
