Black History Field Trip to PortlandFeb 27, 2013, 2:30 PM
Please join your peers on a field trip to Portland to either watch the movie Django or the movie Lincoln and indulge in a SOUL FOOD feast!
Are you interested in African-American culture? If so, please join your peers on a field trip to Portland to either watch the movie Django or the movie Lincoln and indulge in a SOUL FOOD feast!
If you want to watch the movie Lincoln, you will leave campus at 2:30 p.m. If you want to watch the movie Django you will leave campus at 3 p.m. After both movies, students will meet up at a soul food restaurant in Portland to enjoy some tasty soul food dishes like collard greens, fried okra, and some sort of meat and gravy!
If you never had SOUL FOOD before or if you're interested in learning more about the African-American culture, then this is the field trip for you. During dinner, we will be debriefing both movies and hopefully having wonderful conversations about issues African-Americans have faced and still face today.
If you are not able to make it to one of the movies, you are still welcome to join us for the debriefing dinner. There will be a van to take students to the SOUL FOOD dinner at 5:30 p.m.
If you are interested in this field trip, please sign up in the PIC. First-come, first-served. Please try to sign up by Monday, Feb. 25 so we can have a good head count of students. If you have any questions please contact Yashica at email@example.com or Pete at firstname.lastname@example.org.
