Pacific Philharmonic & Strings Chamber Ensembles Fall Concert

The Pacific Philharmonic and Strings chamber ensembles will presenting a free Rockin’ the Symphony fall concert on Friday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. in McCready Hall.

The concert features student soloists Samantha Trulock, mezzo-soprano, Anastayisa Gavrilovich, violin, and Ashley Stig, soprano, performing Katy Perry’s hit single “Firework” from the album Teenage Dream. Additionally, student soloists Eric Asakawa, tenor, Alexandrea Yoong, violin, Rebecca McDonell, mezzo-soprano, and Tiara Herr, mezzo-soprano, will perform Bruno Mars’ pop hit “Grenade.”

The Pacific Philharmonic will also perform Rimsky-Korsakov’s exotic Capriccio Espangol, Albinoni’s gloriously beautiful Adagio for Strings & Organ, and Saint-Saëns’ festive Danse Bacchanale that was used in the film Lawrence of Arabia starring Peter O’Toole. Pacific University’s instructor of cello and chamber music, Noah Seitz, will be serving as soloist for Saint-Saëns’ complete and magnificently stunning Cello Concerto No. 1 with the Pacific Philharmonic.

Strings chamber ensembles will perform especially exciting and prevalent works by Edvard Grieg, Joseph Hadyn, Ludwig van Beethoven and Benjamin Britten. These ensembles have been coached by two of our awesome and devoted string faculty, Adam LaMotte and Noah Seitz.

The Pacific Philharmonic is comprised students and community members. If interested in future participation, please contact the Director of Orchestral Studies, Dr. Bryce Seliger, at or 503-352-2298.
