Restoring Natural Areas
Environmental projects provide Pacific students with opportunities to restore forests and rivers, encourage recycling on campus, develop the community garden, and teach environmental concepts and practices. Through organizations such as the Forest Park Conservancy, the Jackson Bottoms Wetlands Preserve, the Tillamook Forest Center, and our own B Street Living Museum Permaculture Project , students can work in a variety of ways to preserve the natural environment, such as invasive plant removal, planting native species, and building earth-friendly structures. Every year, Pacific students also participate in the annual SOLVE beach clean-up on the Oregon coast and work to restore the natural beauty around Pacific in many other ways.
