Day of Service
As the saying goes, "many hands make light work." Every year since 1999, Pacific students have spent a day on projects to enhance the community. Historically this event was called Sprucing Up the Grove and took place during orientation. In 2012, the Pacific Day of Service took place on September 15th -- a little bit later so that returning students, faculty, and staff can also participate.
Our approach to the Day of Service:
- We limit the number of participants based on the needs in the community to ensure that all projects can make an authentic contribution.
- We recognize that short-term projects do not usually get to the root of a problem, but can engender a spirit of service on campus and make an immediate difference to the people and planet they serve.
- We ensure that participation is voluntary so that those involved really want to be involved.
The 2012 Day of Service was on September 15th. Read more about it in the article about our Day of Service.
