Pacific University College of Education:
Undergraduate Teacher Education Program

The undergraduate program allows a student to complete a bachelor's degree while simultaneously completing the requirements for an elementary Oregon Initial Teaching License. Students are provided solid foundations in theory and content, as well as maximum exposure to the school environment through practica and student teaching experiences. They are prepared to nurture young peoples' intellectual, social, and moral growth and to appreciate diversity of cultures.
The Education and Learning major is recommended for students interested in pursuing a license for teaching in early childhood (age 3 - grade 4) or elementary (grades 3-8) classrooms. Undergraduate students interested in teaching at the secondary level should major in the subject area in which they wish to teach and complete the professional sequence of courses in the College of Education.
Students on the Forest Grove campus may enter the program either as a freshman or as a transfer student. Students interested in the undergraduate teacher education program on the Eugene campus should have completed or be close to completing their Associate Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT) degree at a community college prior to application.
