Martin Fischer, Ph.D., CCC-SLPMartin Fischer joins the College of Education faculty as Director and Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders. He comes to Pacific University from a position as professor and academic director at Oklahoma State University. His areas of specialty include child language disorders and the application of technology to the discipline of speech-language pathology. He is co-developer of the Master Clinician Network which is a project designed to make peer reviewed examples of evidence-based clinical practice in speech-language pathology available for observation and critical discourse. |

Ellen Reuler, M.A., CCC-SLPEllen Reuler is an Assistant Professor and Director of Clinical Education at Pacific University. She came to Pacific from Portland State University where she was on the faculty in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences for 21 years, serving as Clinic Director for 13 of those years. She has presented numerous papers in the areas of and clinical education and service learning. Ellen has been active in local, state and national professional organizations, including serving on the Executive Boards of the Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders and the Oregon Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She has also served on the Legislative Council and Speech-Language Pathology Advisory Council of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and currently serves on the Council for Clinical Certification. Ellen was named an ASHA Fellow in 2007. |

Amanda Stead, Ph.D., CCC-SLPAmanda Stead joins the faculty in the College of Education as an assistant professor in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She has recently completed her PhD. program at Louisiana State University with a focus in neurogenic speech-language disorders. Her research examines language and discourse within people who are healthy aging and in those with dementia and Alzheimer's disease across time. It is her goal to understand cognitive aging and turn research knowledge into evidence-based treatments that clinicians can use with adults who have communication disorders. |

Rik Lemoncello, Ph.D., CCC-SLPRik Lemoncello is excited to join the College of Education faculty as an Assistant Professor in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. He is passionate about teaching and clinical practice in the area of adult medical speech-language pathology. With expertise in cognitive rehabilitation, evidence-based practices, motor speech disorders, and scholarship of teaching and learning, his scholarship advances best practices for adults with acquired brain injury. His research focuses on assistive technologies for cognition to support memory performance, motivation, and self-efficacy. He is also currently investigating the potential efficacy of computerized cognitive training for adults with acquired brain injury. With many local and national connections, he is excited to share his experience, passion, and scholarship with students and colleagues at Pacific University starting in Fall 2012. He completed his doctoral work in 2008 at the University of Oregon and worked as an Assistant Professor in the department of Speech and Hearing Sciences at Portland State University from 2008-2012. In his spare time, he loves to bake cakes, spend time with his two black cats, and explore "easy" hiking trails in the local area. |

Kerry Callahan Mandulak, Ph.D., CCC-SLPDr. Mandulak couldn’t be more pleased to join the faculty in the new School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Pacific University. Dr. Mandulak’s clinical career has been focused on the assessment and treatment of children and families affected by cleft lip and palate, velopharyngeal dysfunction, and other craniofacial disorders. Her clinical interests formed the basis for her research interests pursued during her doctoral training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, including applying acoustic analysis techniques for investigation of speech production and speech perception in children with repaired cleft palate. She finished her doctorate in September, 2009. Dr. Mandulak is active in the American Cleft Palate – Craniofacial Association, and was recently elected to the Executive Council. Locally, she serves on the Medical Advisory Committee for Smile Oregon, a non-for-profit organization committed to improving care of children affected by cleft lip and palate in Oregon. In addition to cleft palate and craniofacial disorders, Dr. Mandulak is passionate about working with people who stutter. She is a member of the local stuttering support group, loves mentoring students with this specific clinical interest, and provides speech therapy whenever she can. Outside of work, Dr. Mandulak has enjoyed exploring Portland with her husband David and son Henry. She loves working on anything crafty, coming up with new and exciting things to cook for her family, and reading books not related to work! |

Shesna Calkins, Student Services ManagerShesna Calkins is the Student Services Manager for the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She joins our group with a strong background in Financial Aid and enjoys helping students through the administrative process. She serves on the University’s IDEA committee, and participates in the annual Give-N-Go event. |

Caitlin McDonnell, M.S., CCC-SLP, Clinical Assistant ProfessorCaitlin McDonnell is delighted to join the College of Education as Assistant Professor of Clinical Education in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Caitlin was born and raised in Oregon and earned her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Portland State University. Clinically, she is passionate about medical speech-language pathology with a special interest in pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders. She gained much clinical experience at Randall Children’s Hospital in Portland serving on the feeding team, craniofacial disorders team, performing video fluoroscopic swallow studies and providing inpatient services. Caitlin enjoys mentoring students and looks forward to supporting them through their clinical education at Pacific University. |

Teresa Roberts, M.S., CCC-SLP, Clinical Assistant ProfessorTeresa Roberts is honored to be part of the College of Education as Assistant Professor of Clinical Education in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Teresa has a Master's Degree from Portland State University's Speech and Hearing Sciences Program with a background in Linguistics. She has worked in the public school setting with children and adolescents with a wide range of needs. She is currently serving on the Ethics Committee for the Oregon Speech-Language and Hearing Association. She has supported public school Speech-Language Pathologists with professional development and technical and clinical issues. Her specialty areas include behavioral disorders and special education law. Teresa is looking forward to participating in the growth of future professionals at Pacific University. |

Eric Sanders, Ph.D., CCC-SLPEric Sanders is thrilled to be a member of the inaugural faculty of the new School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Pacific University. He recently completed his doctoral degree in the speech and hearing sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to beginning his doctoral studies, Dr. Sanders worked for the Miami-Dade County public school system as an augmentative alternative communication (AAC) specialist and for a private practice in the South Florida area. His research interests include the study of language and literacy for individuals with significant intellectual disabilities. Currently his work is focused on understanding how individuals with disabilities answer questions. In addition to his research, Dr. Sanders is passionate about teaching speech-language pathology students about working with people with disabilities. He is also excited to begin exploring the Pacific Northwest with his fiancée, Emily. In his spare time, Dr. Sanders enjoys record and book shopping, seeing live music, and following Miami sports teams. |
