Alfonso Lopez-Vasquez
Assistant Professor of Education; Assistant to the Provost for Diversity
Alfonso Lopez-Vasquez holds two appointments at Pacific University: Assistant to the Provost for Diversity and Assistant Professor of Education. In his capacity as Assistant to the Provost for Diversity Alfonso coordinates the development and implementation of diversity initiatives for the university. He lectures on the subjects of civil rights, equity and diversity for the College of Health Professions. In the College of Education, Alfonso teaches Learning Communities, Introduction to Cultural Competency and Teachers as Consumers of Research. His career spans a period of over thirty years, having worked at all levels of the educational system including K-12, and undergraduate, graduate and professional education. His work has included extensive consultant experience in the public and private sector in all aspects of equal education and employment opportunity, affirmative action, equity and diversity.
