Kelli joined Pacific University as a full-time faculty member in July 2006, after three years as an adjunct clinical instructor at Lakeland Community College in Ohio. She has over 10 years experience as a clinical dental hygienist, working in both general and periodontal practice settings. Her areas of expertise and interest include periodontal therapy, community service, and mentoring students in professional association activities.

Kelli is dedicated to giving back to her community and believes there is much to gain from giving to others. She and her two therapy dogs visit with hospital, nursing home, and hospice patients, serve as ambassadors for the humane society to educate the public about pet health issues, and participate in Bark for Books to help develop reading skills in young children.

Kelli is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and has held leadership position on both the state and local level. She believes that being active in professional organizations is important to keep current on issues that affect your profession and access to care for underserved patients. Her goal in education is to promote strong learning communities, effective communication skills, and critical thinking skills. She strives to encourage her students to become life-long learners in both informal and formal educational settings.
