Dental hygiene education programs are accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation, which operates under the auspices of the American Dental Association.
The Commission has established Accreditation Standards for Dental Hygiene Education Programs to guide program administrators, faculty and staff in developing and maintaining acceptable quality in educational programs. These standards address outcomes assessment, administration, curriculum and instruction, faculty and staff, financial support and physical facilities and resources.
