Additional Information about Commencement

Graduates participating in the Commencement Ceremony must wear academic regalia. Caps & Gowns are ordered through the Pacific University Bookstore (503-359-1082). The deadline for ordering your regalia is June 15, 2012. Orders after this date will be charged a $15 late fee.

Completing Degree Requirements
The Registrar’s Office reviews your degree requirements after you Apply for Graduation and contacts your Program Director if there are concerns. If you currently are taking courses at another institution to complete your degree, or have any questions about completing degree requirements, contact Kaitlyn Varuska at 503-352-2776 or kaitlyn@pacificu.edu.
All accounts must be paid in full before you graduate. If you anticipate an outstanding balance after you graduate, please contact the Business Office to make arrangement for payment. Students with outstanding balances after graduation cannot receive their diplomas or transcripts.
Students who received federal student loans must complete exit interviews before graduating or leaving campus. The Financial Aid Office will contact you to set up those appointments.
Accommodations for Out-of-Town Guests
It isn’t too early to make travel and hotel arrangements for your guests. Limited overnight accommodations are available in Forest Grove; in addition, a number of hotels and motels in Hillsboro, Beaverton and Portland are within driving distance of the Forest Grove campus. For more information, contact the Chambers of Commerce of each city, or the Washington County Visitors Association at 503-644-5555.

All Pacific University parking lots are available on a first-come-first-served basis. No parking permits are needed. Please be courteous when parking on the streets in the neighborhoods around campus.
Accessible parking is available in parking lots around campus. In addition, College Avenue will have designated accessible parking spots, a drop-off area, and a golf cart shuttle to the ceremony for those needing assistance. All parking is on a first-come-first-served basis.
The commencement ceremony is outside on the East Lawn of Marsh Hall.

Sign Language Interpreters will be available at the ceremony. Please email Ingrid Unterseher or call 503-352-2212 as soon as possible for seating instructions.
After Commencement, a press release is sent to the hometown newspaper of graduating Pacific students. To ensure the correct newspaper publishes your graduation information, or to prevent the information from being published, fill out a Hometown Release Form, available from University Relations on the third floor of Marsh Hall.
