BATTLEFIELD BAND

The passion and joy of Scottish music will fill McCready Hall with the arrival of Battlefield Band. Its theme is "Forward with Scotland's past." With some 30 years of experience, the quartet has been lauded by the Edinburgh Evenings News "as a national treasure." The ensemble mixes old songs with new material of its own making and performs it with a unique fusion of both ancient and modern instruments, including bagpipe, fiddle, synthesizer, guitar, cittern, flute, bodhran and accordion. The rich heritage of Celtic music, the old mixed with the new, heralds a concert unlike any other.
