Satisfying minimal standards does not guarantee your admission, since the number of qualified applicants may exceed the number of places available. Therefore, many well-qualified applicants may not be accommodated. The Vision Science Program Committee will screen the applicant pool. Admission decisions will be reached based on the minimum requirements for admission and the following criteria:
- The appropriateness of your goals to the MS program
- Depth and breadth of your undergraduate preparation
- Strength of recommendations from your reference letters
- Communication skills as assessed in the application essay and the interview
The Vision Science Program Committee makes recommendations for acceptance into the program to the dean of the College of Optometry. Applicants will be officially notified of their status within four weeks of the application deadline.
